Sustainability

Re-usable, No Waste, No Demolition

Minimal Impact since 2009

Compared to dirty concrete ramp installation, modular ramps are a super clean alternative. Add to that the huge additional time, cost, energy and disposal needed to remove a concrete ramp, then its no contest!

Lower Impact Access

Constructed with little or no waste, simply installed without concrete, and with modules that can be recycled and re-used, our access ramps make sense in todays world.

Packaging Waste: Zero

Our products are fabricated and delivered to the istallation location without any packaging of any kind.

Fully Accessible

 Water Usage: Minimal

Once the raw steel plate and fibreglass decking are received there is little water usage.  When removed from a home after months or years of use, the modules are broken down by removing all nuts and bolts and then quickly pressure washed for re-use elsewhere without detergent.

Overall Environmental Effect: Much Less than Alternatives

The reason:

  • Delivered in the back of a van in one trip by the installers = less fuel usage;
  • No other trades involved = less fuel, less overall impact,
  • Installed over any surface = less construction noise and materials;
  • Installed over existing utilities = no remove & replacement of  utilities, soil or concrete;
  • Installed without fuss in a few hours = minimal noise, minimal inconvenience, no heavy equipment usage;
  • No landfill waste.

Re-Usable Modules & Parts

Semi-permanently installed for months or years, our ramps go in easily and come back out even easier.  What was once a fully functioning wheelchair access ramp becomes in an hour or two, a stacked pile of modules and decking sheets, ready for cleaning (pressure wash only, no detergents) and re-use elsewhere.  The environmental cost of steel production for the frames is now spread over multiple locations, allowing a much smaller overall impact on the environment.
